Do you have a long list of checkout instructions or housekeeping items? That would be a NO
There has been a lot of negative publiclity on social media that staying in short-term rentals come with a long list of items that owners ask of guests, chores such as do the dishes, do the laundry, wipe down the counters, mow the lawn, clean the toilets, etc. If you were in a hotel, you would not have to do any of these things, right? And isn’t that what the cleaning fee is for??
Well, I get it. So my checkout list looks something like this:
Do NOT make the beds before you checkout - you should not be bothered with this and housekeeping will replace the linens and make the beds with fresh ones
Leave your dirty towels on the bathroom floor or hamper - housekeeping will take them to launder and replace with new ones
Shut off things like the stove (obvious one here), lights, window ACs and fireplace (if applicable)
Close the windows and lock up when you leave
The only additional request (and it is a request not a requirement) would be to bring the trash to the curb if you are in the house Monday morning for trash pickup day. (they come VERY early). And if I lived nearby, I would do this myself. If you checkout out on another day, Thursday for example, leave trash. Again, property managment or staff will take care of it. And if you forget or don’t feel like doing it, no biggie.
I want you to be able to relax and enjoy your stay at the Zandy Castle and not worrying about a ridiculous todo list.
